Happy Easter! Tariffs & Upcoming Posts

Happy Easter to you and yours! May your day be filled with joy, delicious food, fine company, and perhaps a delightful glass of wine.

It’s wonderful to see the sun shining today! My wife and I are looking forward to a walk and soaking up the vibrant atmosphere as our town comes alive with outdoor dining. There’s nothing quite like the energy of people enjoying themselves in the sunshine. I’m also incredibly grateful to my wife for her hard work today, not only preparing for tomorrow’s Easter meal and tidying up but also for making my favorite Mango Chicken. Thank you, my dear!

On a different note, it seems the Romanian wine industry might breathe a sigh of relief regarding potential US tariffs. From what I recall, their exports to the US are relatively small, around $1.5 million. In contrast, countries like Spain, with wine exports to the US exceeding $3 billion, could face significant challenges if these tariffs are implemented. So, while it might be smooth sailing for Romania, Spain, France, and Italy could encounter rough waters.

Looking ahead to future posts about wineries and wines, please know that I won’t be offering any formal ratings. Instead, I’ll share the wines we purchase, which inherently means we enjoyed them. I’ll also describe what appeals to my palate (typically reds) and my wife’s (usually whites and rosés). As I’ve mentioned before, everyone’s taste is unique, so the best wines are the ones you love! Our upcoming posts will delve into our recent experiences in the Dealu Mare region. It’s exciting to see the developments there, with new accommodations and improved transportation options making it easier for visitors to explore the wineries and restaurants. Stay tuned!
